Home Comfort Heating & Cooling offers deals on seasonal Clean & Checks

Early fall kicks off the start of heating season, and to your friends at Home Comfort, that means scheduling hundreds of annual maintenance visits all around the city and suburbs.

Did you know you need a Clean & Check on your heating equipment in order to maintain any manufacturer warranty you may have? Much like your car needs oil, air, fluids, and even tires or a brake job at certain times during its life cycle, so does your home’s HVAC equipment. Do not put it off. We repeat: Do not put it off. September and early October is as good a time as any to get on the schedule, and gain some insight on how you can expect your furnace or boiler to perform this upcoming winter.

Did you know you need a Clean & Check on your heating equipment in order to maintain any manufacturer warranty you may have? Much like your car needs oil, air, fluids, and even tires or a brake job at certain times during its life cycle, so does your home’s HVAC equipment.

Home Comfort makes it rather easy with online bookings, custom Comfort Plans, twice-yearly visits, detailed forms and reports, digital records, repair options, filter subscriptions, tap-to-pay, financing, text notifications, membership discounts, etc. And then add in some good old-fashioned kindness and respect.

They are currently offering $50 off your first-ever heating & cooling tuneup and regularly run specials and promotions at HomeComfort.net/deals

Down the Street Apparel handles all your Maine South and school gear

As if Natalie Amabile doesn’t have enough going on. The mother of three and owner of 2 Sisters Boutique on Prospect Avenue in Park Ridge also co-owns Down the Street Apparel, a screening company that specializes in creating local high school and sports team gear.

“My kids were hitting high school age a few years ago, and there wasn’t anywhere in town where you could purchase merchandise unless you actually went into the school,” Natalie tells us. “So the more we thought about it, the more we thought we could do something on the side and provide gear for events, games or just to show your spirit.”

Sweatshirts, hats, t-shirts, jerseys, hoodies, scarves and more are all available — and customizable as well. Swing in to 2 Sisters to take a look at a sampling of items, and visit DownTheStreetApparelShop.com for more info.

Renata’s Organic Skincare & Spa opens Amaru Wellness Hub

During the summer, Renata’s Organic Skincare opened Amaru Wellness Hub around the corner from their spa on Prospect Ave. & and Devon in Park Ridge.

“This is a collaboration with two of my best friends, and it is a space for our community to meet to expand our perspective of what wellness means for us,” owner Renata Karkut tells us. “We’re offering breath work and cacao sessions, and many other unique offerings. The door is open to special events and to holistic and health practitioners who would like to share their talents and wisdom for finding optimal health and a balanced life.”

Amaru also offers a storefront with meditation, clothing, unique jewelry, superfoods, supplements and more. Visit store.amaruwellness.org for more info.

You can get free consultations for children and adults at MPowered Smiles Orthodontics

You don’t need a referral to see an orthodontist, making it more convenient for both children and adults to access the care they need. And the free consultations at MPowered allow you to explore your treatment options without any upfront costs.

“Early orthodontic assessments, particularly around age seven, are crucial for catching potential orthodontic issues before they become more serious,” Dr. Milena Bulic tells us. “These evaluations can guide the proper development of teeth and jaws, ensuring better oral health and potentially avoiding more extensive treatments in the future.”

Ronald McDonald Family Room is open in Park Ridge’s Advocate Children’s Hospital

The new 4,000 square-foot Ronald McDonald Family Room, located in Advocate Lutheran’s Children’s Hospital in Park Ridge, is the fourth Family Room operated by RMHC-Chicagoland/Northwest Indiana and provides families much-needed respite, hospitality and immediate access to their hospitalized child 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.

Almost 30 percent of families with a child admitted to Advocate Children’s Hospital live more than an hour away, so the new Family Room fills a need for housing and respite space for patient families that require travel for care. Enabling families to stay close to their hospitalized child supports the health and well-being of the child and saves families over $10 million in hotel and food costs each year.

RMHC-CNI anticipates accommodating more than 600 family check-ins and more than 16,000 visits to the Advocate hospitality space in the first full year of operation. Visit rmhccni.org for more info.
