Q: Describe how proper skin protection has turned into a year-round decision for people of all ages

A: With growing awareness of the long-term risks of skin damage, using sunscreen and protective skincare daily has become a key part of maintaining healthy, youthful skin at all times. Our providers make sun protection a central part of every consultation, guiding patients toward products that will best protect their skin from harmful UV exposure and environmental stressors.

Q: What’s the most important thing you tell your clients when it comes to protecting themselves from the sun, especially in the summer?

A: The most important thing I tell patients about sun protection, especially in the summer, is to wear broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every day, even on cloudy days or when you’re indoors near windows. Reapply every two hours, and more often if swimming or sweating. Sunscreen is your first line of defense against both UVA and UVB rays, which can lead to premature aging, sunburn and even skin cancer. Additionally, I recommend wearing protective clothing, seeking shade during peak sun hours, and wearing sunglasses and hats for extra protection.

At Beautifully New, we offer a range of advanced treatments to repair and reverse the signs of sun damage, helping to restore a more youthful, even complexion.

Q: What are some common (or new) treatments at Beautifully New that can repair the signs of sun damage?

A: At Beautifully New, we offer a range of advanced treatments to repair and reverse the signs of sun damage, helping to restore a more youthful, even complexion. Two of our most powerful options include our Sciton BBL Hero laser, which is a technology that delivers faster, more powerful and more effective results than traditional IPL treatments. It works by using light energy to target and eliminate brown spots, redness and uneven pigmentation caused by sun exposure. Benefits include:
* Reduction of sunspots, freckles and age spots
* Diminished redness and broken capillaries
* Collagen stimulation for firmer, more youthful skin
* Evening out overall skin tone and texture
* Minimal downtime with long-lasting results

We also love our MOXI laser at Beautifully New — it’s a favorite amongst our team and patients. MOXI is a gentle, non-ablative fractional laser perfect for preventing and reversing early signs of sun damage. It’s an excellent choice for all skin types and provides:
* Light resurfacing to improve texture and tone
* Reduction of fine lines, sunspots and melasma
* Collagen production for a radiant glow
* Minimal downtime (often just 24 hours of redness!)
* Preventative anti-aging benefits for younger patients

Q: Give us three of your favorite, most trusted skin-care products that are available at Beautifully New

A: Alastin Hydratint — A lightweight, all-mineral, broad-spectrum tinted sunscreen for your face that hydrates and protects skin from harmful UVA/ UVB rays while providing a soft, glowing appearance.

Alastin Restorative Skin Complex — Helps combat all visible signs of aging, brightening the complexion and lifting the skin for a more youthful glow.

Revision DEJ Boosting Serum — The only anti-aging serum that boosts the skin’s cellular energy and is clinically proven to visibly improve skin firmness, fine lines and wrinkles, radiance, texture and tone.

All products are available at Beautifully New and at www.shopbnew.com

Our providers make sun protection a central part of every consultation, guiding patients toward products that will best protect their skin from harmful UV exposure and environmental stressors.

Q: What exciting events or promotions do you have coming up this spring that people should know about?

A: We have some exciting specials running in June like:

* Facial Balancing: Book the Balanced Profile special ($1750 of three syringes) with any injector and get a free travel restorative skin complex ($128 Value).
* Dysport: $50 off Dysport treatment (30 unit minimum) and use ASPIRE $50 code!

We also launched a new treatment this spring that encourages natural regeneration and is ideal for patients looking to enhance skin elasticity, reduce the appearance of fine lines and promote skin vitality.

Q: Tell us a bit about your plans for expansion into Chicago’s River North neighborhood later this year.

A: Our growth is fueled by the amazing support of our Park Ridge community, and we’re excited for this next chapter. This expansion allows us to bring our expert care to River North while continuing to elevate your experience at our original location. With its vibrant energy, River North is the perfect place for our next chapter, welcoming new patients while always cherishing those who’ve been with us from the start.

Wondering what’s happening to the old @thalaivasin Wondering what’s happening to the old @thalaivasindiankitchen space on Main Street? During a recent lunch, we were filled in on the plans for Mandram, which means “a place where people gather.”

Operated by the owners of the popular Thalaiva’s, we’re told to expect an assortment of small sandwiches and kati rolls (a type Indian wrap with butter chicken or chicken tikka masala inside), as well as customized fresh juices blended in front of you and milkshakes made of dried fruit and nuts.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming fall issue of The Real Park Ridge for more details about Mandram, opening in September.

The southwest chicken salad at @howardstreetinn

Keeping it light: This is not your normal sports bar menu. Far from it, actually, and it’s easy to fall in love with a new dish each time you stop by. The menu is that robust. Perfect for summer, in our mind, is the southwest chicken salad that has grilled chicken breast topped with fresh pico de gallo, corn and grated cheddar served over a bed of chopped romaine lettuce — all packed in a crispy baked tortilla shell. Throw on a little spicy ranch dressing and pair with a cold draft beer and you’re set. And pretty guilt free.

And did we mention Howard Street has arguably the best daily drink specials in the area?
