The Real Park Ridge sat down with owner JoAnn Fosco to discuss her business celebrating its 25th year on Main Street in Park Ridge.

What’s changed over 25 years in town: So many things have changed in the area since then. You wouldn’t believe it if you didn’t see it. Park Ridge, and especially Main Street, have a new charm and a vibe now. We’ve loved being in the middle of this evolution, and it’s been a good influence — and inspiration — to continuously help us strive to stay current. And it’s only going to get better.

At its core, Anthony Valentino has always offered upscale service. We’ve always had high standards. We didn’t just build it and people came.

But with the changes, some things remain the same. At its core, Anthony Valentino has always offered upscale service. We’ve always had high standards. We didn’t just build it and people came. After eight years at our previous location, we spent a year and a half rebuilding our space in what’s now a 100-year-old building.

How Valentino has evolved over the years: In this industry, you’re always evolving. That’s the cornerstone of our industry. Changing, learning continuously. I will say that everyone who works for us loves to keep learning and improving on their skills and their art.

We definitely have fun too, and we are so blessed to be in an industry that’s cutting edge and keeps us young, and we’re constantly humbled by the support this community has given us over the years.

Specialties at Anthony Valentino: Gorgeous, healthy hair-color services, precision hair-cutting, hair-smoothing treatments and final looks with hairstyling and makeup.

What’s next: We’re reimagining retail, so we’ll have a new retail store at the front with haircare, skincare and makeup products with a new resident makeup artist.

We’re continuing to grow and add to our team as well. Our reputation has brought us to a point where we continue getting referred often, and the demand continues, so we’re always looking to add experienced haircare professionals who have a high standard as well.
