Inspiration for Luvvli
After earning an executive MBA from Loyola last year, Jenny Sepulveda was ready to take the plunge toward something she had wanted to do for some time.

“I’ve been practicing personally — yoga, meditation, Reiki and various other modalities — for over 20 years,” she tells us from her bright and colorful studio. “I found that the more my mind is not racing, the more it’s positive, and I’ve always enjoyed educating people about our mind and bodies, explaining what trauma is, what healing really means and focusing on what made me smile today and what I’m looking forward to tomorrow.”

“I wanted to share what has helped me focus on inner joy and peace in my life. I’ve done private sessions for so long that I felt like it was my time to share it with the community that I live in.”

You can’t lead and love and take care of others if you’re operating on half empty. We can teach you how to be present, live in a gratitude state, appreciate yourself, give out positive energy and get to your big goals. These classes are like fitness for the soul.”  — Jenny Sepulveda

What’s offered
** Since they opened this winter, Luvvli has added eight instructors, one nurse, 14 new classes and an app for information on and reservations for workshops and classes ranging from sound and vibrational therapy to restorative yoga.

** On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, childcare is available in another room so parents can attend flow classes. And the Little Luvvlies class allows you to connect and move your body as a family while your children learn important skills to build their focus, strength, flexibility and mindfulness.

** Kundalini yoga is a unique, full mind-and-body tuneup that utilizes a combination of breath work, meditation and dynamic movements.

** Customized vitamin-infused IV therapy treatments — which are great at treating fatigue, illness and metabolism issues — are available Fridays and Saturdays by appointment.

** Want some one-on-one attention? Private and couples Reiki sessions, as well as private group yoga sessions at the location of your choosing, are now available.

** A retail shop with gratitude journals, manifestation candles, Luvvli branded clothing and more.

Recovery and healing are essential

All the classes at Luvvli are restorative in nature with a goal of making it easier to connect with yourself. “I like to compare it to when your phone dies and you need to charge it or your car needs an oil change, well this is your 45 minutes or hour to charge yourself in mind and spirit,” Jenny says. “We help you find that deep relaxation to take you to another level and be more grounded. Life is always going to throw us curveballs, but these classes will help show you how to handle some of that anxiety and stress, how to evolve and see the lessons in things.”

One of the primary goals here is to modernize the way people think about healing and wellness. “It has nothing to do with religion,” Jenny says. “It’s just called being human. You’ve lived, you’ve loved, you’ve been hurt and you’re dealing with life. Your own body is meant to let go, open up and heal. … You can actually do more when you take time to practice these self modalities and focus on yourself and turn it into a lifestyle.”

Your own body is meant to let go, open up and heal. … You can actually do more when you take time to practice these self modalities and focus on yourself and turn it into a lifestyle.”

Words to live by

Stretching, meditation and deep breathing are all attainable components to a healthier lifestyle, allowing the mind to go into a neutral state where you can connect with the most important person in your life — you.

“You can’t lead and love and take care of others if you’re operating on half empty,” Jenny adds. “It can be a powerful thing. We can teach you how to be present, live in a gratitude state, appreciate yourself, give out positive energy and get to your big goals. These classes are like fitness for the soul.”

Coming soon…
In addition to acupuncture workshops, Luvvli will be adding massage therapy to the schedule soon, and cryotherapy sessions will be available this fall. Cryotherapy can help with pain relief, inflammation, muscle recovery for athletes, arthritis, improving skin, increasing metabolism and improving mood and mental health.

What is your favorite restaurant in the area?

@jkussymortgage : “I don’t necessarily have one favorite, as I go to different places for different experiences. Happy hour at @fireandwinege is a great deal, and the outdoor space is fantastic. The loaded nachos at @donjuanscantina are perfect to split, especially with one of their hand-shaken margaritas. And the salmon skin sushi rolls at @blufish_parkridge (not on the menu — you have to ask for it) is one of my favorites. Too many great choices to pick just one.”

"Keep it simple and consistent: SPF every single day (rain or shine), reapply when you’re outdoors, and don’t rely on makeup with SPF as your only protection. Add a hat or physical coverage when you’re in direct sun. It’s underrated but incredibly effective."
