Halloween fun from the Park Ridge Park District: S’mores, drive-thru trunk or treat, and house decorating contest
S’more Stories, Songs & Strolls Oct. 23
The entire family will enjoy the peaceful night air while sitting around a fire listening to stories, singing songs and making everyone’s favorite treat — s’mores! Enjoy a night hike around the pond, too. Flashlights are not needed, but feel free to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.
Date: Friday, October 23, from 7-8:30 p.m.
Fee: $16 per family
Drive-thru trunk or treat at Centennial Fitness and Centennial Activity Centers Oct. 23
Join us for a spooktacular drive-through trick-or-treat experience you and your family will never forget. The Park District is taking over the entire parking lot at Centennial Fitness and Activity Centers. You will drive through multiple trick-or-treat stops hosted by the Park District, local businesses, organizations and community groups.
Participants stay in their vehicles, but costumes and car decorations are encouraged. Individuals handing out treats will follow safety guidelines, including wearing a face covering and gloves. Participants are asked to wear masks.
Registration deadline is Oct. 16.

Halloween house decorating contest Oct. 26
Do you pride yourself with having the scariest or cheeriest Halloween house décor? Let’s see how creative Park Ridge can be. Register for the Park District’s outdoor Halloween house decorating contest. All homes will be judged by Park District staff on Monday, Oct. 26 between 4-9 pm for first-, second- and third-place prizes.
Staff will also take photos and video of your display to share on our Facebook page and be voted on by the public. The photo with the most likes by the end of the day on Oct. 29 will be presented the People’s Choice Award. All winners will be announced on Oct. 30 and will be awarded a Park Ridge Park District prize package.
