Pazzi di Pizza

What you do for a living: I am a full-service real estate broker with @properties/Christie’s International Real Estate in Park Ridge and have been helping clients buy, sell and lease homes in Park Ridge and throughout the entire Chicagoland area for more than 11 years. I guide clients through every step of the real estate journey — from our first conversation through closing and beyond — making sure they feel supported, informed and truly cared for.

Real estate is a relationship-driven business, and the most meaningful part of my work is helping people move into the next chapter of their lives. My business is built largely on referrals, which I consider the highest compliment, and I am committed to delivering exceptional service and professionalism while treating every client with the same level of care I would want for my own family.

How long you’ve lived here: I grew up in Park Ridge and now live in Norwood Park, so this community has truly been part of my life from the beginning. I also worked for the City of Park Ridge for many years, which deepened my connection even more. No matter where life takes me, Park Ridge has always felt like home.

What you like best about Park Ridge: What I love most about Park Ridge is the strong sense of community. There’s something very special about how people here support one another — through local businesses, schools, events and simple day-to-day kindness. And compared to when I grew up here, there are now so many great new shops and restaurants. I love the fresh energy, the vibrant atmosphere, and the way Park Ridge has become a true destination while still holding onto its small-town charm.

Elia Café

Best meal you’ve had recently: I recently attended a Women in Business/Chamber of Commerce event at Elia Café in Park Ridge, and the food was absolutely amazing. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavor. It was one of those meals where you leave thinking about it the next day — and planning your return visit. It reminded me how lucky we are to have such great dining options right here in the community.

Italian food has always been my first love, and one of my longtime favorites is Pasta D’Arte on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. It’s warm, cozy and consistently delicious, whether I’m enjoying a quiet dinner or celebrating a special occasion.

Favorite restaurant in the area: Italian food has always been my first love, and one of my longtime favorites is Pasta D’Arte on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. It’s warm, cozy and consistently delicious, whether I’m enjoying a quiet dinner or celebrating a special occasion. Another wonderful Italian spot is Pazzi Di Pizza in Park Ridge, where I’ve had many gatherings with friends. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is inviting, and it’s one of those places that always feels like a treat.

Favorite “hidden gem” restaurant: While it’s definitely more well-known today, Foxtail on the Lake in Des Plaines still feels incredibly special. It’s elegant, beautifully designed and the perfect place to celebrate something meaningful. The ambiance, the lakeside setting and the overall experience make it feel like a little escape without having to travel far.

Harp & Fiddle live Irish session

Best bar to grab a drink or to catch the game: Harp & Fiddle is always such a fun spot to relax and enjoy a drink. It has that great mix of lively energy and a comfortable neighborhood feel. I especially love the back room. It’s so cozy and warm, and it’s the perfect spot for special events or more intimate gatherings. Whether you’re catching up with friends, listening to live music or just unwinding at the bar, it’s one of those places where everyone feels welcome.

A great night out with friends usually includes… Starting with a nice dinner — somewhere local where we can relax, laugh, and catch up — and then heading back to someone’s house for dessert and more conversation. I love those evenings when you’re not rushed and you can just enjoy being in good company.

2 Sisters A&L Boutique

Favorite local store or best shopping area: I love shopping locally, especially for unique or one-of-a-kind gifts. Some of my favorite spots in Park Ridge are 2 Sisters A&L Boutique, Edie Boutique/Marigold and Raffia. They always have beautiful, thoughtfully curated pieces that make wonderful gifts. Lurvey Home & Garden in Des Plaines is another favorite of mine. It offers beautiful seasonal décor, great gift ideas and the kind of inspiring atmosphere that makes browsing a joy.

Lurvey Home & Garden in Des Plaines offers beautiful seasonal décor, great gift ideas and the kind of inspiring atmosphere that makes browsing a joy.

The best way to spend a Saturday in the winter: For me, the perfect winter Saturday is spending time with family or friends. Whether it’s brunch, a cozy gathering at someone’s home, or simply catching up over coffee, winter weekends are made for slowing down a bit and enjoying good conversation.

Chalet Home + Garden

Secret spot: Chalet Home + Garden in Wilmette is definitely one of my go-to “secret” spots. People think of it as a gardening center, but once you step inside, you realize how many unique and beautifully curated items they have. It’s one of those places where you intend to browse for a minute and end up discovering the perfect gift or something inspiring for your home.

Underrated activity in the area: Simply walking around Uptown and exploring the great shops and boutiques. It’s such a charming area, full of energy and personality. Park Ridge has become so trendy in recent years, and with the train station right in town, it’s incredibly accessible to both city and suburban visitors. It’s the perfect mix of quaint and vibrant.

Lake Geneva

Favorite weekend getaway spot: Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is one of my favorite places to escape to. It’s such a quick drive, but the moment you arrive, it feels like you’re truly getting away. Whether I’m strolling through downtown, enjoying the lake views or simply relaxing, it’s the perfect blend of peaceful and refreshing.

What have you heard great things about but have yet to try?
I’ve heard wonderful things about the breakfast and brunch at Elia Café in Park Ridge, and it’s definitely on my list to try. I recently attended a dinner event there and the food was incredible, so now I’m even more excited to go back during the day. I’ve also heard great reviews about the new Di Marko Café on Main Street in Park Ridge.

What is your favorite restaurant in the area?

@jkussymortgage : “I don’t necessarily have one favorite, as I go to different places for different experiences. Happy hour at @fireandwinege is a great deal, and the outdoor space is fantastic. The loaded nachos at @donjuanscantina are perfect to split, especially with one of their hand-shaken margaritas. And the salmon skin sushi rolls at @blufish_parkridge (not on the menu — you have to ask for it) is one of my favorites. Too many great choices to pick just one.”
