Chicago Travel & Adventure Show returns to Rosemont Feb. 19-20

The 17th edition will take place Feb. 19 and 20 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center (5555 N. River Road).

The best place to plan, personalize and book a vacation, the Travel & Adventure Show gives guests the opportunity  to meet and gain valuable insight from the world’s top travel experts, including Pauline Frommer, Andrew McCarthy, Samantha Brown and Peter Greenberg, as they present seminars and answer attendee questions over the course of the weekend.

Featuring booths and displays from the world’s top destinations — from the Dominican Republic to the Florida Keys, or from Pigeon Forge to Saint Lucia — the show brings together representatives and experts from across the globe to help attendees plan, personalize and book their next vacation while immersing themselves in a taste of local cultures.

The 2022 Chicago Travel and Adventure Show will adhere to local health and safety protocols and will require all attendees ages five or older to wear a mask and provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19.

Attendees can purchase single-day and two-day tickets online now for the discounted rate of $11/$18 or on-site for $15/$22. Children 16 and under are free, and on-site tickets can be purchased with cash only.

Small Cheval, Stan’s Donuts and Shaq’s Big Chicken coming to Rosemont in 2022

The Village of Rosemont will be adding a trio of dining offerings in the fall of 2022 with the opening of Small Cheval, Stan’s Donuts and Big Chicken. Rosemont will be the first suburban location for Small Cheval, the ever-popular Chicago burger establishment.

A casual, fast-paced joint, Small Cheval is known for serving a stripped-down menu of cheeseburgers, hamburgers and fries alongside shakes, draft cocktails and beer. The 4,500-square-foot restaurant will feature a retractable roof to accommodate in-restaurant dining year-round, as well as drive-thru and pickup lanes allowing guests to place food orders in advance.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s fast casual chicken restaurant, Big Chicken, will also be opening in fall 2022, marking the chain’s first Midwest location. Expect a menu that fuses home-cooked childhood favorites with bold new flavors.

All three restaurants will be located at 9421 W. Higgins Road.

What is your favorite restaurant in the area?

@jkussymortgage : “I don’t necessarily have one favorite, as I go to different places for different experiences. Happy hour at @fireandwinege is a great deal, and the outdoor space is fantastic. The loaded nachos at @donjuanscantina are perfect to split, especially with one of their hand-shaken margaritas. And the salmon skin sushi rolls at @blufish_parkridge (not on the menu — you have to ask for it) is one of my favorites. Too many great choices to pick just one.”

"Keep it simple and consistent: SPF every single day (rain or shine), reapply when you’re outdoors, and don’t rely on makeup with SPF as your only protection. Add a hat or physical coverage when you’re in direct sun. It’s underrated but incredibly effective."
