Active locals share some of their favorite businesses in the area

I cannot say enough good things about StretchLab and their assisted stretching services! I sit at a desk for much of my day and work out regularly, which combined can leave me feeling very tight and stiff. StretchLab has greatly improved my range of motion and flexibility, which has boosted my workouts and helped me eliminate those aches and pains, feeling much looser. I consider this to be one of the best investments I’ve made in my overall health and well-being!

— Anne Marie Brown

I really liked the atmosphere at Elements Massage in Park Ridge. It’s comfortable, and they’re very thoughtful when it comes to the warm bed, soft music and environment. I would suggest the aromatherapy add-on to your massage. The therapist was very in tune with my needs, and I felt rejuvenated and completely relaxed when I walked out the door. Next up, trying the hot-stone massage and maybe a monthly membership.

— Debbie Podmore

Canine Design on Montrose Avenue in Norridge is great for dog grooming. Great work, reasonable prices and the nicest people!

— Marlene J.

What’s more important than a good mechanic? An honest one! Took my car in for what I thought was a faulty blower motor. When D’Agostino Service Inc. called to say it was an acorn inside that was making the noise and everything was working fine once removed, I was one happy customer. Definitely using them for future repairs.

— Victor Diaz

Moses’ Barbershop

Huge props to Moses, and strong recommendation for Moses’ Barbershop on Higgins in Park Ridge. My kindergartner is not a cooperative client — very wiggly, very scared of clippers, etc.

Moses was super patient and friendly. This was our first time trying this barbershop. It went so much smoother than any of the other places we have tried (including kids’ haircut places and home). My son’s review: “That guy was way gooder than you.” Five stars.

— Ginger Pennington

I want to share strong recommendation of a business in our community. This past week, my iPhone13 stopped functioning. It lit up, icons were visible, but it was not responsive when any button was pushed. Dropped in to Tech City on Devon and in less than five minutes, the gentleman was able to fix my phone for an incredibly fair price of $35. Talk about integrity and honesty.

Places like this should be rewarded for their unbelievable service. … Please be aware that they not only do repairs and upgrades, they also upgrade old laptops, tablets and game systems — so if you’re looking to save a buck, this guy really seems to know his stuff!

— Judy Sutton

I really like Café Touché in Edison Park for parties. On weekends, they are closed between brunch and dinner service, so you can get the whole restaurant for a few hours for your private event.

I had the pleasure of helping and delivering the beautiful work of Michelle Romano, The Flower Doctor, bringing smiles and joy with flowers. She goes above and beyond for her clientele and is extremely talented.

— Kate Urbanski

Advance Cabinets in Franklin Park — The quality of cabinets is great, and the design I got was 50 percent less than any other store in this area.

— Laura M.

S&T cupcakes

I can’t let the day go by without sharing a lovely experience today by S&T (formerly Sweet & Tart) on Prospect. We threw our daughter’s sixth birthday there, and everything was great.

Meghan and her staff were awesome and thoughtful. If you’re looking for an event space with room and opportunities, please give them a call. Can’t say enough good about it.

— Cassi Noverini

Savory Crust — a Filipino-inspired restaurant in Morton Grove — has seriously fantastic wings. Pick up some empanadas too.

— Lindsey H.

For a mechanic, Skylark Garage is honest, reliable and fair, and they never upsell. I have been around shops my whole life and wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.

— Ashley P.

The therapist at Elements Massage was very in tune with my needs, and I felt rejuvenated and completely relaxed when I walked out the door.

I really like Café Touché in Edison Park for parties. On weekends, they are closed between brunch and dinner service, so in between you can get the whole restaurant for a few hours for your private event.

Studio 22 High Tek dance classes in Niles — they are the best! My daughter is so happy and motivated every day because of this studio.

— Carla Guzzo

We just used Emerald Decorating to paint our whole house. Doors and all the trim — massive job. The guys were great, worked their butts off, and did an excellent job.

— Ellen Shevlin

Brick and Mortar is quickly becoming a staple and great service to our community. The team at Brick and Mortar is very dedicated to keeping a welcoming, clean and modern space. They offer so many great amenities, whether you are looking for a short- or long-term location to conduct meetings, a desk to catch up on work or a sound-proof booth for privacy. This is an exceptional business model to have in our town.
