I’m so glad I made the switch to Davis & Engert Dentistry. The continuing education the staff and especially Dr. Julie does is incredible. I’m always so impressed with the knowledge she has about so many different facets of dentistry. My daughter also loves coming in for her appointments. All the hygienists are so nice and helpful, and the front desk always has a smile and returns phone calls super quickly. You have patients for life!

— Katherine R.

Todd Gentile and his Allstate team here in Park Ridge are reliable, responsive and always looking for ways to provide the best coverage for a great price.

— Darina Antonova

I went to Dick Pond Athletics on Busse Highway to look for some new sneakers. They had a great clearance sale on some high-end brands. A young man named Israel helped find the right ones for me. He was patient, polite and very knowledgeable.

— Ken F

Matt Steiger from @Properties in Park Ridge is fantastic! We interviewed several candidates to sell our home and were impressed with Matt’s knowledge of the area, specific knowledge about our type of home and how to represent it, and his straightforward approach. Happily, Matt exceeded our expectations. His counsel was excellent, he was candid about feedback, and he was a lot of fun to work with. Matt was also 100 percent reliable. He was early to appointments, gave immediate feedback, opened and locked the house securely, and never missed a showing. We never had to think about anything. He even gave us a contact for a great real estate attorney for the closing. We highly recommend Matt!

— Julie S.

BFT (Body Fit Training) Park Ridge is the best! The classes are great, coaches are awesome and all the members are super chill and non-judgemental. Reach out to them and take a free class. You won’t be disappointed.

V and J Landscaping & Services out of Skokie is great for fixing lawnmowers and snowblowers.

I cannot say enough great things about my stylist at Ash & Willow Salon. She is truly amazing at what she does. From the moment you sit in her chair, she listens carefully to what you want and takes the time to make sure every detail is just right. She’s incredibly patient, never rushes the process, and makes sure you’re 100 percent happy before you leave. Whether it’s getting the perfect color match or nailing the exact haircut style you asked for, she delivers every single time. I always leave feeling confident and refreshed. She’s not just talented — she genuinely cares. Highly recommend!

— Jessica G

I wanted to give a shoutout to Dr. Curtis Owen from Elite Total Rehab. I’ve had prolonged issues with my feet and pain when walking and standing, struggling with Cuboid Syndrome. I could feel that my cuboid bone was out of place, and the X-rays from my podiatrist showed this as well. I saw a podiatrist five times for this over the past five months and was still in a great deal of pain. One visit with Dr. Owen and I’m walking pain free. He did some heat and muscle stimulation, and adjusted my foot bones.

Raffia is my go-to shop for pretty, unique and inspiring gifts. Whether I’m looking to refresh my house or finding a personal gift for a friend, Raffia consistently comes through. It’s truly a treasure box filled with wonderful gifts for yourself or others.

— Lisa R.

Anne from Successful Families Together is a joy to work with. She helped my friends’ daughters get along again. She created a solution that worked for everyone and was easy and comfortable for them.

— Elyssa

Dr. LeBarge or Dr. Bush from Midwest Center for Women’s Healthcare in Park Ridge are amazing doctors.

— Rachel P

Went to the new 5800 North Cafe on Milwaukee Avenue for breakfast today, and it was phenomenal! Food was delicious, and the service was great. I got my typical veggie skillet which, tends to be a lot the same no matter where you go, but this was the best veggie skillet I’ve ever had and so flavorful. Definitely try this new neighborhood small business!

— Melinda W.

Elegant Mobile Detail is not the cheapest, but they are absolute best and come right to your house.

— Dan C.

I just had a new fence installed by Advanced Fence & Gate out of Mt. Prospect. They did a terrific job and provided quality product at a reasonable price. Check out the reviews.

I can’t say enough good things about this KickHouse here in Park Ridge. The classes are adequately intense and push me to my limits every time. The coaches are amazing — they’re not only knowledgeable and skilled, but also immensely supportive and encouraging to all the members. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, you’ll feel right at home here. I’ve seen such great improvements in my fitness and confidence since joining. Highly recommend!

Wondering what’s happening to the old @thalaivasin Wondering what’s happening to the old @thalaivasindiankitchen space on Main Street? During a recent lunch, we were filled in on the plans for Mandram, which means “a place where people gather.”

Operated by the owners of the popular Thalaiva’s, we’re told to expect an assortment of small sandwiches and kati rolls (a type Indian wrap with butter chicken or chicken tikka masala inside), as well as customized fresh juices blended in front of you and milkshakes made of dried fruit and nuts.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming fall issue of The Real Park Ridge for more details about Mandram, opening in September.

The southwest chicken salad at @howardstreetinn

Keeping it light: This is not your normal sports bar menu. Far from it, actually, and it’s easy to fall in love with a new dish each time you stop by. The menu is that robust. Perfect for summer, in our mind, is the southwest chicken salad that has grilled chicken breast topped with fresh pico de gallo, corn and grated cheddar served over a bed of chopped romaine lettuce — all packed in a crispy baked tortilla shell. Throw on a little spicy ranch dressing and pair with a cold draft beer and you’re set. And pretty guilt free.

And did we mention Howard Street has arguably the best daily drink specials in the area?
